Warcraft categories

[edit]

Hiya Major.T, I've just readded category:Warcraft to a few articles you removed it from. This is because the article you removed it from is the "key" article in a category, e.g. there is a category "races in Warcraft" and an article "races in Warcraft". The article should be in both the category "races in Warcraft" and "Warcraft". Cheers, Talrias (t | e | c) 21:10, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Whoa, watch out! You replied on my user page rather than my talk page. :) No harm done. :) Cheers for fixing it. :) Talrias (t | e | c) 21:15, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Yep :) I know, I reverted your user page as soon as I realized this. Sorry--Major.T 21:18, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
If I said that I had never done something like that I would be lying! Cheers for doing the Warcraft stuff too, it badly needs cleanup. Talrias (t | e | c) 21:20, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Category cleanup is one of my new hobbies.--Major.T 21:22, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Advice for creating categories, since you're doing lots of it: just add the articles to the category (e.g. just stick [[Category:something]] at the bottom of the article). Talrias (t | e | c) 21:35, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the tip. I just realized categories can't be moves, so I put Category:Warcraft Items up for speedy deletion and just created Category:Warcraft items. I think World of Warcraft should also have similar sub-categories but there aren't any articles for them that I know of, yet.--Major.T 21:38, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Leaving categories as redlinks if you haven't got a description of them is far preferable to creating a blank page, by the way. Also, be wary of over-categorisation; a category with just a few articles within it is probably not that helpful. Cheers, Talrias (t | e | c) 21:46, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
I agree but I predict that eventually these categories will fill up because of the nature and popularity of World of Warcraft. However, I doubt Wikipedia wants to be a catalog for these games.--Major.T 21:51, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
No, in fact I recently had a discussion with someone who started creating articles on invidual spells in Warcraft III. Wikibooks is a more appropriate place for strategy guides. Talrias (t | e | c) 22:02, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Perhaps most of these articles should be moved to Wikibooks and deleted from Wikipedia. That would be my suggestion, but I have never used Wikibooks.--Major.T 00:04, 9 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Uhm yea.....I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with your descision about the peacock term in Garry's Mod. While I agree stating "this is the best" or "was important" is a peacock term, I do not, however, believe "one of the most well known" is. Plus, the way you left the article, the first sentence seems awkward and short. Perhaps if there were some statistics on how many times its been downloaded, or usership this could be rectified, but....well, maybe you're correct, I just don't know. Sorry for wasting your time, mysekurity 9 July 2005 02:25 (UTC)

Hi Ryan, thanks for the references on the Unknown Worlds Entertainment article! --Major.T 19:55, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It was my pleasure. I'm a fan of the group, and can't wait to see what they produce next.--Ryan! 19:49, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Charlie Cleveland, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable. If you can indicate why Charlie Cleveland is really notable, you can contest the tagging. To do this, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and leave a note on Talk:Charlie Cleveland, explaining how Charlie Cleveland is notable. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

Please read the criteria for speedy deletion (specifically, article #7) and our general biography criteria. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. (aeropagitica) 05:14, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Major.T. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Dod screenshot0001.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Major.T. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 00:56, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Dod screenshot0001.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Dod screenshot0001.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk 18:25, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
